Best pets by stage
Early game (0–40K Speed)
Farm the Forest and Lake, then Desert once you have claimed the 10,000 free Speed. Leviathan is the first pet worth building a Pen around; Brr Brr Patapim is the best Forest earner. Fuse Chicken and Jerboa duplicates in the Fuse Machine rather than keeping them.
Mid game (40K–2.5M Speed)
Jungle Mythics — Spider and King Snake — are your workhorses, followed by Snow’s Mammoth line and Volcano’s Cerberus. Community consensus is to fill your Pen with Mythics here before spending runs on Cosmic-tier eggs, which are heavy and easy to lose to the Yeti and Cerberus guardians.
Late game (2.5M–700M Speed)
Abyss Ocean’s Beluga Whale, Whale Shark and El Maja and Prehistoric’s Bronto and Mosasaurus replace your Mythics one slot at a time. Prioritise Secret spawns (announced in chat) and mutated Cosmic eggs.
End game (700M+ Speed)
The Cosmic Unicorn at around $1B/s is the single best slot in the game, followed by Cherry Blossom’s Oni Tiger. Feed your best un-mutated end-game egg to the Sakura Incubator for a Bloom or Spirit Bloom roll before hatching it. Speed targets for each step are in the speed guide.
Which pet should I chase next?
Pick the highest-band pet in the deepest biome where you hold roughly double the Speed gate. If that pet is one band above your current Pen, it is worth every run; if it is the same band, spend the time on Speed instead.
